On the same day I explored the abandoned school I posted last time, I also found a few smaller places as well. Originally, my plan was to visit the ruins of Pike Township School near West Carlisle but found that they had been cleared away. Moving on, I stumbled across two abandoned buildings side by side and initially thought that both were houses. On the right was a two-story blue house with a couple of interesting surprises inside. I found a prescription dated 2000 in a bedroom, giving us a clue as to when it was last inhabited. Next door was a slightly smaller building that turned out to be entirely one room and was filled with stored items including furniture, window frames, a bucket of 90s pop cans and toys. Upon exploring it, I now believe it was once a schoolhouse or one-room church.

The next planned stop was the Ream Cemetery Schoolhouse. There is some debate as to whether it was a schoolhouse or a church. My reasoning for believing the schoolhouse argument is that it lacked the raised floor in the rear seen in so many one-room churches. The biggest giveaway is that you can still see an outline where there used to be a chalkboard. A small family cemetery directly next door is the reason many believe it to have been a church. There are several members of the Ream family buried there, their dates of death ranging from 1808 to 1885. A monument in the center bears their names while mostly illegible headstones surround it.

Finally, I found a small one-room church alongside an active house. Inside was a broken piano and some graffiti. I didn't stay long because the neighbors' dogs noticed me and started barking loudly.
