So I was in need of a second vehicle...and turns out my SAR group was selling our 1989 Chevy V2500 Suburban 4x4. I snagged it for $750. It has the 350, its 4x4 and awesome...I feel like I am piloting a small Starfleet vessel...

So something funny...I thought this thing had 150,000 on it, but turns out, it has JUST 15,000 on it! This was confirmed by looking at our records since it was purchased in 1991 and yup, we have only put on 12,500 miles-ish since it was only used on missions.

If it makes you feel worse, the AC needs to be charged and the electric locks need to be fixed, but I think a wire was unplugged

Well, I'm making progress on customing the rig...installed cup holders, power inverter, my little electric mini-cooler, and of course my radio equipment. Also got my ham plates transfered over.

Well, I got the 2nd battery installed along with my isolation relay so I can run radios and inverter while off.

I also found out that my rear turn signals were dead after almost a month of driving the beast; but it was an easy fix, 4 wires needed to be spliced back together and voila!

However, I am getting a squeal from the rear drum brakes while driving; looks like they just need adjusting from what I can see; I'll let the boys and girls at Les Schawb handle that on Monday.

Well, Les Schawb said one of the rivets on the brake pads was rubbing the rotors werid which caused the noise; they wanted $500 plus to do the calipers, rotors, and pads which is BS. Found out the calipers are fine by my own inspection plus the fact our SAR group replaced them 3 years ago so I decided to just replace the pads myself and problem went away!

Now, I'm ready to tackle getting my power locks working; looks like its a yellow wire I am looking for but I'm finding no information on where under the dash this wire is found; I know it comes out of the door obviously, but I can't find any diagram that shows it. Anyone have an idea?

In my experience you should put your head near an airbag and touch yellow wires/yellow connectors to power for the best experience possible
