Enjoy Your Stay

A few days after Christmas, on the way to a family reunion in upstate New York, myself and my mother vaguely recalled having driven by an abandoned hotel in the area years ago. After doing some research and finding out exactly where it was, we returned for a proper explore.
Taking in its rural setting and the abandoned nature of the surrounding town, I found this building eerily beautiful. As we parked the car and approached the grounds on foot, the five-story structure loomed darkly over us in the pre-dawn light. The interior, with its narrow halls and dim rooms, was still fairly well-furnished, albeit well-worn by the elements and local kids. The psychedelic 70's wallpaper and shag carpeting was certainly a bonus. It saddens me that this hotel is in such sorry shape, but at the very least, I'm glad to have revisited it when I did and gotten a look inside. Really, despite the brutal cold and limited time frame, this was probably my favorite explore to date.
As for the photos, I may have rushed set-ups and gone a bit hard with the vignetting. Overall though, I found this to be a very photogenic location. Enjoy!

One of my friends was in here not too long ago. The owner locked himself inside with them and walked around the place screaming for them to come out. Then when he found them he gave them a tour. Weird place. Crazy to see how much it is crumbling now.

Aw man!! Someone ruined the table setup. When I went there last, it was set up nice and beautiful. That was a good explore, I loved seeing that place.

Awesome location there!! It looks to be fairly intact despite the vandalism. I would love to check this place out.

Thanks! Darn, missed the perfect table by only a few months . Honestly though, I'm surprised more stuff in there hasn't been ruined; the amount of intact artifacts in there is really impressive. PuddleJumper and SwanStation, I would say it's definitely worth the trip!

Any chance this is in the Catskills region? I was there briefly last summer and planning a return trip this June. Abandoned resorts and hotels are all over the place in that area.

I don't think it's technically in the Catskills, but it's not far from it. If you'll be in the area, add it to your list!

That place is a shithole now. I still love it though. I want to go back one day and document all the different wallpapers.

Yeah, it's definitely seen better days. I'd be surprised if it could be saved at this point. That wallpaper idea is pretty great though, that and the shag carpeting really livens it up.
These were my personal favorites:
