Hey everyone, I was thinking about planning a trip to Monte Cristo for this summer, and was wondering if anyone on here would be interested. It's not your typical 'industrial' type exploration, but I figured there might be some interest on here.
I have only been there once before, and didn't get a lot of time to look around since I walked the whole way. The road is gated and locked, but you can get bikes at least to the river crossing and further if you can carry or ride them over a foot log to get across the river.
The town itself is small and most of the buildings are falling/fallen down, but there are some interesting pieces of history like the small gauge railroad turntable which you can still push around. I would like to also go see some mines either in this area or other places in the Snohomish County area, so I will update you on plans here. One that just got me excited is this one, actually in King Co, but you take US2 to get to it;

Post here if interested in planning a possible overnight to Monte Cristo later in the summer, or day trips to the site or other places. The way to Monte Cristo is all paved, so no worries there, and I have a car which I don't mind taking on some of the rough roads that access other areas
