| | | Posted by AdventureDan eh I'll play the devil's advocate and say "yeah... nothing new for US" But for the news reporters it IS an exciting piece. let's face it, the guys in that piece, are part of a VERY small percentage of people that are willing to do it. Our community just happens to have a lot of people that fit into that percentage. So for us, it may not be incredibly impressive, but I bet there were a lot of people that saw that news bit and were genuinely amazed. Especially here in Texas. Plus, no real names were given, and faces were hid so props to the news reporters for that, and no locations were shared. IMHOP no foul.
| Its nothing new for the public/media either. There have been multiple articles written in NYC, Chicago, Detroit, etc. It just hadn't gotten to Houston yet until now. They did cover up places/names but it lets the city know that people are climbing their buildings and they become more aware of things. NYC i believe is trying/did pass a new law towards climbing the city infrastructure because of articles like this. NYC went from being easy to new laws being passed, along with extra patrols on the bridges.

| | | I have a friend in New York, who's images have been in the news, as well as she has been interviewed. If they do it right, and keep much of their information to themselves, then nothing usually happens. She still goes where she wants, and has no issues. But then she does a lot of photojournalism on the homeless as well, which has also been on the news, and gallery shows in New York. Yes she is also a member here, and the one that invited me here.
