Sweet article and video from Jenkem about NJ skater Rob Miceli skating in an abandoned psych ward. I particularly like the way he uses the warped wooden floor as a bump to ollie off. This is cool to me because one of the things that got me interested in abandonments was looking for stuff to skate.

Jesus fuck, the volume on my speakers was still all the way up. The guy smashed his board through the window and I swear my heart skipped a few beats.
Awesome video though, skateboarding and exploring go hand in hand for me. That last wheelchair jump is sick, I know from experience how scary that is and how hard you can fall.

Skiing through an abandonment is awesome as well.

Posted by JasonJacksonPhoto Skating in abandonments is the shit. Here's my favorite video. It was shot at an abandoned water mark in New Mexico (I think).

That vid was shot in Lake Dolores Waterpark in California, a dozen or so miles east of Barstow, on the way to Las Vegas. I stopped there last summer. It's an amazing place. Definitely worth checking out if you get the chance.
