Digging access to a WWII bunker under Paris < on 1/9/2015 9:44 PM > | Reply with Quote
These guys have done a really great job here. The video is pretty long but it shows the amount of preparation, commitment and expertise needed to achieve such a thing.
In the middle of the Paris catacombs lies a bunker where the French resistance was organized during WWII. It's now separated from the rest of the catacombs network, but a subway utility tunnel goes right next to it. After gaining access to the tunnel itself, they calculated precisely where the bunker was behind them, and spent days digging a long chatière to it. They are finally rewarded by organizing a massive party inside!

Crazy and awesome but at the same time very stupid as things like this will only increase the already insane amount of security there. I expected some beautiful pristine bunker but they ended up in a shithole full of graffiti, so I don't think it's worth the effort and bothering the security services at all. But I guess they mainly did it for the kicks, still epic work and cool party.
