Found all of these places on break from work, I'm sure many of you have been through this area. I know myself ridiculously well, so always in the back of my car is a change of clothes, sturdy shoes, particle mask, leather work gloves and even a hard hat, which I have to carry anyways. The first 11 images are all within a 2-mile radius, incredible how much stuff was in such a concentrated area. What was interesting was many of these places were adjacent from fully occupied houses. I went through several more ventured than I'm sharing but these were the ones I felt significant.
1. Older house, broken windows, but locked up. I suspect it might be used as migrant housing during the summer.
2. I always love the second-story exterior "doors to nowhere", at least the balcony was still here on this house. Inside was disappointing.
3.
4. However this house wasn't disappointing...
5....because of this room.
6. I think this may have been a old one-room general store or repair shop. It's on a hill and the floor's completely gone. You can look through the window down 1 1/2 stories to the ground.
7. Venturing around back, the building's completely busted. This toilet reminded me of Cleveland of Family Guy. "NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOO"
8. This was my favorite house exterior. Had I been still in my 20s I would've been able to get in and out. However, today, I AM TOO FAT TO GET THROUGH THE OPENING. I have a feeling there's going to be a day where I just have to stop exploring because I'm physically unable to perform.
9. This is a house not far down the road from the previous one.
10. And this is from the house adjacent to THAT one.
11.
12.
13. So...okay. It was about midday and had about 3-4 hours to kill time between when I had to work, during which I found this abandoned hotel. The check-in area wasn't taken from inside; instead, I pressed my lens directly against the glass. While doing this, a police car pulled up right next to me.
I was dressed casual, but nice - I was on assignment. So I did what worked for me the last time I attracted curiosity - I turned around and acted like I belong there. I smiled, informed him I'm an architect and a photographer, that the hotel caught my attention so I was checking it out.
He nodded, waved and drove off.
