Abandoned Roundhouse in Victoria

Here's some pics from my first exploration about 2 months ago. This is the abandoned train roundhouse just across the Johnson Street Bridge. It's due for renovation/rebuilding in not too long, so I took the opportunity while it lasted. It was a bitch to find an unlocked door, but I managed it. Unfortunately, after about 2 hours in there, I finally noticed the "Caution: Asbestos" sign, and got the hell out of there. My camera is a piece of crap that can hardly take a non-blurry photo, so if anybody wants to head back there and try and do a proper exploration, that would be great. On a related topic, would anybody be down for having a run at the Janion before it gets turned into a condo? I did a quick look at it yesterday and found a few possible entrances. However, this would have to be done at night or in the weekend, because the amount of construction workers around there is ridiculous. I know I did a thread on this a while ago, but having a proper Victoria UE crew would be great. I've heard fantastic things about the drains here, and the water levels in the ones around my place are going down.

I'll be in Victoria on the easter long weekend, and I'm 100% down for getting into the Janion. Pretty sure there's a super easy way in that I scoped out the last time I was down, but a ladder or grapple will be required.

Yup. I saw that entrance while i was scoping the place out a while ago. I've got the rope and a piece of wood that I can probably rig a grapple out of.

If you're not dirty, you're not doing it right.

Good luck with that. The construction going on means they're gonna have security guards doing laps around the property to keep an eye on the equipment.

I noticed a Pt Moody Station marker in here. Can't even anchor a boat in Pt moody like a "normal" person anymore.
Very cool pix.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

Nifty. I've wondered what the inside of that place was like. Love the brick and beams construction.
