|  | | | So I went exploring along the Platt river and came onto some type of electronic equipment hanging on a string from a man hole (pic 9 - 18 ) any one have any clue whats its purpose is.

And a disposable one at that. Same model that I have. They have a 2 year battery life and then you throw it away. The battery live equals the life of the gas sensors. Nothing on the screen = its toast. You can buy them in the $200 range.
