There is salvation in the decayed...
| | | Mill Town Revisited < on 6/28/2013 2:04 PM >
| | | As requested, the inside of the mill town. There is much, much more here than what is in these pictures. Let me apologize for the picture quality in some of these, well pretty much all of these. The place was pitch black in some areas, and I did not bring my tripod in with me, so no chance of long exposures. Hootie and myself just had fun exploring the place! I am going to go back sometime soon, and of course bring my tripod. Until then, here you are. 1.

| | | I have a weak spot for 5.25" floppy disks. I'd like to shoot this place some time. Also, that photo of the doll with the exploded head is creepy.

I was going to comment on that one. It's super awesome...it looks like it was 'hanging' at one point...? ...the string or something coming down? Totally creepy.

Yeah I assumed it was hanging at one point, but who knows why, who, or how it got there.

I wouldn't mind showing you around there one day. I actually want to go back soon. Funny that you mentioned the key box, Hootie and I were looking for a specific key, and it happened to be one of the few missing. The key was to a Bridge out back that connects the mill to another mill over the dam.

I think in this case, the doll had probably been carried onto the porch by a dog that had gotten hold of it. *or a MEAN little kid.hahaha ~The cord was attached to the house and laying out on the porch, like an old phone or doorbell wire but the hanging theory does at least make it a bit more dramatic!
http://www.flickr....ral-urban-natural/ I don't play well with chiggers and snakes. |
