Went to go see the 85' Scirocco yesterday night and ripped it around the storage unit complex, God is it amazing, you feel like you're on the road. Hopefully al will go well and we'll get it to Bandi's shop on friday for a safety inspection, and then we'll get it plated and ready to roar for some evening drives.

DDDDD

Photo of it when we bought it.

Spring, lovely.

The time of year where the bottoms of my door panels (inside and out) and trunk panel begin to show signs of rust. Every year I sand it down, put rust destroyer on the metal, prime and paint it only to have the same areas rust through annually.

Now I'm at the point where I'm just going to leave it. Too much effort.

I owned a Toyota that spent most of its life in Sudbury. I don't know if it's from something in the air from the nickel plants or what, but that was a new kind of rust. I know 1980s Toyotas love to rust, but this thing was brittle. You could kick a panel that looked fine, and your foot would go right through it. My friend had a VW Golf from Sudbury that was similar.

It was like 80F out today. I have the AC running at work right now because it's that warm at 4AM.

With that said, I have a ton of stuff I have to do to my Honda. It still has an annoying ping I CAN NOT GET RID OF! Seriously, it's driving me batty.

Got to 75 yesterday. Did some work on the Miata. Got most of the water/gas out of the tank. Gotta figure out how to do something with it. Nasty inside but I don't feel like dropping half the drivetrain to change it. Got most of the interior in shape except for the drivers seat and the top. Next on list is mopping up the rest of the nasty in the tank, putting on a new fuel filter now that I got the old one off, bleeding the clutch, and getting some matching tires on it that are not dry rotted. I may drive it for a bit till I can get a top. Didn't need a roof on the jeep, dunno why I would need one for a miata

Lol, that CJ had no power steering, no power brakes, a 304 that was mildly built and a 3 speed. Windshield down and on the floor my buddy pacing me on "the stretch" in his 91 GT Mustang said he was at just a tick over 105 when I started slowing down. That damn thing had a quarter turn of steering play in it, bias ply ( if that tells you how old and rotty the tires were ) 33" mud terrains and more rust holding the tub to the frame than steel. It was a once in a life time thing that I would never do again nor recommend to anyone who wants to live a long stress free life

my Bronco was a 71 on 31" BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A's, had a 2bbl 302 with headers and true duals, no lift, a cobbed-together Hurst shifter on the floor for the 3speed (it was a 3-on-the-tree) and sounded like damn sherman tank coming down the street.
