| | | Posted by budda So why 4 cars?
| Boyfriend is a mechanic. And we're both pretty big gearheads. We've actually had more than 4 in the past, but we've consolidated a bit. Currently one is down needing trans work (00 A6 Quattro), one is the fun/track car (02 Mustang GT...could be a daily but it passes everything but a gas station and the suspension is crud on anything but straight lines), one is my bf's daily (98 Volvo V70), one is my daily (00 Ram 1500). We have a friend just buy one of our spare cars (98 ZX2), have a friend's car here for engine work (83 Trans AM), and are now dragging the bf's family heirloom Galaxie 500 up here this coming week. Hoping to rid ourselves of the Ram and Audi soon (although I would LOVE the Audi, he's pretty tired of seeing it and just wants it gone, considering we've now had the engine/trans out 3 different times). The Ram is dying a slow, painful transmission-related death and can barely get out of it's own way anymore. It's pretty useless for hauling. Plans were for him to buy a more reliable truck, me to get the Volvo (provided it doesn't shit it's engine on us... he thinks it developed a knock, but hasn't had time to look it over yet this weekend), and he'd get something small for a daily. Now those are up in the air because of said issues. My best was when I had 7 at once, with 5 on the road. And I was the only driver | Think our best was, oddly enough, when we were living at the apartments. 8 vehicles between 3 people. All 8 would start, but 2 of them probably wouldn't have made it more than a block. (One of those 2 was an 81 Bronco on 40" mud tires that were in severe need of balancing.)

| | | I had a good vacation, but as with any gathering of family, it seems the only two topics that anyone could possibly think of all weekend were "marriage" and "kids"... as in, when are my bf and I doing either/any/all of the above.
The short answers (that of course, I couldn't say, because I have to put on my happy face for his family): "When we're good and fucking ready and not a minute before" and "The 21st of NEVER"(respectively). And even if I wanted kids, I most CERTAINLY would NOT have a spawn before I had a ring. Needless to say, it doesn't help me to enjoy the "vacation" part of this when I'm constantly being bombarded by these questions and having to defend my choices in MY life.
At least the bf and I are on the same page on these topics.

| | | Posted by Esoterik Tobacco cravings. 90 days was bad. Now at 6 months they are coming on fierce again. Sucks pretty hard right now.
| I've been almost two years without a cigarette, since September of 2010. The cravings came back about every 1 to 3 months for about a year and a half, from my own personal experience. It does get better, believe me. After a year, they get few and far between. You still have your days, but no where near as bad as they are right now for you. My last big problem with those that I can remember was like middle of December of 2011 to the beginning of January of this year. After that, I really didn't have any big cravings. What I found was worse were the withdrawal symptoms I had been having. I had stomach issues, either constipation or diarrhea really bad and general nausea and vomiting. My last big attack of that was around September of last year, the doctor I saw for it said that it probably wouldn't come back again, usually it comes back every 3 to 6 months for a year, after that, you usually don't see it again. The biggest thing you can do for the cravings is just to find something else to do. I ended up going back into video games and spending money that I used to spend on cigarettes on things I couldn't afford while I was smoking. I save the money and use it to do things like take vacations, buy computers and other expensive shit I couldn't afford before. Like my glasses...I had to have certain things the doctor ordered on them like transitions and anti glare coating, but I didn't have to buy Oakley frames or lenses. Just hang in there, it does get better and it will get better, just take it one minute, one hour and one day at a time.
