| | | Awesome. Usually they are welded shut or locked. This site looks pretty good compared to a lot of other one's I've seen. Thanks for sharing it.

| | | That's a Nike site. Those are underground bunkers to store the Nike or Ajax missiles. The missiles were lunched above ground, not from silos.
Your security measures were inadequate. How unfortunate for you. |

| | | Surprisingly intact. Rare to find intact K-9 kennels. Did you find any of the connecting cable/ plug assemblies above ground near the lunch pads for the missiles? They're big, the cable is about an 1.5 inches thick. Any wall murals?
Enjoy it while you can. [last edit 2/26/2012 2:14 AM by MrSivalls - edited 2 times]

| | | Gotta wonder what the story behind the bus and the gratuitous bullet holes is. I bet it involved a lot of alcohol and a hell of a weekend.....
very pic heavy and very worth it

Less worrying, more exploring!
| | | Re: Inactive Missile Silo <Reply # 12 on 2/28/2012 10:06 PM >
| | | The buses and Bullet holes are from SWAT Training. This site is among a whole ring of Nike sites that circle the LA area (figured since he posted a sign giving away the city name, it was kay to post lol). Sunno, if you venture over to the P/SW section and snoop around you can see many different explores of this site where you can compare the condition from each visit. Kind of cool to see things change. Also will find some others that might point you towards some other sites near there that are pretty cool. You really are just scratching the surface of the Cold War/ WWII abandonments in that area. Love gnome. Always fun to have something to toy around with on explores
