| | | New Bern is my home town. I loved studying this cemetery in my college archaeology class. When I did a report on several of the families there, one of the brick mausoleums had been broken into and myself with several classmates discovered the opened tomb. We reported it to the local graveyard keeper and they let us go inside to see the layout of the little place and read the gravestones that had been piled inside. Apparently the family had bought the mausoleum after several members had already been buried in regular plots and moved them inside later. It was an epic experience for a history buff, like me.

| | | Oh lawdy, my first digital camera. I was using one of those cinder blocks when I first started exploring. Had to carry a shoulder bag of floppies around with me. 2mp's was serious business back when that camera came out.

| | | thanks guys...what a great story about getting into the open tomb. I love stuff like that. I'm getting my pictures together from when i went to portugal and visited the bone church. i'd love to do the catacombs as well some day. And yea, between the million disks one had to bring and the extra batteries...man we really had to love photography! LOL!
