| | | This is great, I'd love to explore this sometime. How many buildings would you say are still standing out there?

| | | I was there in 2006. There were a lot of building spread out over 2+ miles. There were over 400 people who resided there in 1879. And it's 16 miles from and off the main road.

| | | Superb! I love ghost towns. There were so many in colorado -- and a few scattered throughout WA, but not many in WA are still intact to this degree.

| | | cool find....i've been sniffin around here in WA a bit, but it looks like there is more in Eastern WA (and Idaho) than Western WA for sure. I've got an old logging camp I'm gonna check on in 2 weeks....hopefully there is something still there...and hopefully i will get pics lol.

| | | Chesterfield looks awesome. As for Western Washington, we have a lot of trees -- ghost towns were all made of wood. And because we have a lot of rain, that wood doesn't hold up. ("That's what she said" joke anyone?) Still, I found one mildly interesting ghost town several years back: Lester.
It's a hike to get to. Just a few houses and smaller buildings left. Town closed in 1984, and some old lady lived there 'til 89. [last edit 1/31/2012 6:26 AM by defecto - edited 2 times]

| | | the place is huge..the pix on the site are those on the ?main" drag. The road goes a long way with building further out to explore...that's where the school and gas station was. Theer are other houses out that way too...however, a sign on the main road states that there are still some people who live there and many of the houses that are lived in, look abandoned. so they tell people to be careful when exploring the homes...someone actually might still be living in them!
