| | | That list dates itself without it even being written... 12 pounds of cod fish? 5 lbs of pork sausage? 8 lbs of... fuckin MUTTON?!? a "sack" of cabbage? Too awesome. What do you think the reason is for finding a list like that, in a place like that? Employee chow down?

Most of the staff that worked out there in the early years lived on site. I've seen old pictures showing houses and a few large wood framed buildings on the site. In the bush there is overgrown cement staircases and railings as well as foundations and old power poles. I've also found old weather records with notes taken at all hours of the day and other old notebooks. The grocery book and other notebooks are quite damaged on the covers with mold and unreadable. I opened a couple and they are nearly pristine on the inside. Sadly I only have a few pictures that turned out good from that trip as I stupidly forgot to charge my camera battery.

| | | Was up there about a month ago, took a ton of pictures up by the pipes and inside of the turbines themselves since they're shut down. Every single window has been taken out and replaced by cinder blocks or boarded over now, leading me to believe it's been fully condemned. Must be darker than a tomb inside. Oh BC Hydro, fine caretakers of our architectural heritage indeed! The creepy-as-hell caves where the pipes went into the powerhouse have also been firmly sealed with grates bolted into the rock. Given how creepy they were, I am not entirely displeased by this. I can post pictures from the trip if anyone is interested!
