| | | Aside from Rockwood, which I personally consider the 'holy grail' of places to explore, has anyone found cool places to explore in Kingston? There's some amazing buildings here! Last weekend I was fortunate to find an old farmhouse to check out.

| | | I personally haven't been in but was speaking with the security guard the other night, they only work nights, 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. I haven't the foggiest how people get in there but would LOVE to.

| | | Great pics! I grew up in Kingston, and lived there again from 98-2004 Kingston is a treasure trove of history, with so many amazing old buildings. I would love to hear if anyone has any great site finds. Hoping to get back there at some point to do some exploring. Anyone heard the story of the haunted tunnels under the Tir Nan Og? anyone been down there?

| | | Go downtown, cross the river, straight east. You'll come across a burned down house with a barn in pristine condition with a nice collection inside. Go further east, you'll come across an abandoned motel. First Floor's a mess, Second floor...hehehe... As for the Asylum, if you can climb past the fence, you're basically in.

| | | Back in 2006 my wife and I attempted to get into Rockwood. It is the only building I've ever had to walk away from, could not find a way in. We were also just on a commute between Ancaster and Ottawa at the time, on a pretty tight schedule and it was the middle of the day on a Thursday. Likely able to get in after dark, on a weekend... just too much activity on-site while we were there.

yep haunted tunnels!! we did the Haunted Walk tour a few years ago, and one of the stops on the tour was at Tir Nan Og....supposedly a ghost haunts the basement, and there are tunnels that connect a bunch of the old buildings downtown. The story is there is a ghost who travels the tunnels. Staff at the Tir Nan Og know about it and many chose not to go down there.

| | | What about the old women's prison behind the Kingston Penn museum? It's been a year since I was in Kingston, so I can't remember exactly if it was open/boarded or what.

Unfortunately the women's prison is pretty much gone. Most of it has been demo'd, Queen's University I believe bought most of the land..... would have been a great place to explore though, I was hoping they would have kept it open as a museum or something like that.
