Sleeping in cities.
I just got back from Atlanta, GA tonight. I had a meeting down there yesterday. Anyway...nobody told me the freeway was RIGHT FUCKING NEXT TO THE HOTEL. Every hour on the hour all night long there was either a fucking firetruck or a fucking ambulance going by ALL NIGHT LONG FOR THE PAST TWO NIGHTS. Even with the soundproofing, I didn't sleep more than three or four hours a night and that had nothing to do with me not being in my own bed or sleeping in a hotel. Usually I sleep fine in hotels.
On top of it, we were in East Bumfuck, Egypt as to where the hotel was in relation to anything worth seeing in Atlanta. So...needless to say, I hope like hell I never get sent back there for anything. The one cool thing though...I think I found the section of highway the "poster" thing for The Walking Dead came from or is based on. It's on the Freedom Parkway. I didn't have my camera, or I would have taken some photos. There are photos of it as it is out there though.
Then add getting a minor case of motion sickness from flying in a turboprop plane from Albany, NY to LaGuardia in Queens, NY to it...and you get an interesting trip. Thankfully it wasn't bad and on the way home, I remembered the wonders of Benadryl and one of the PDR indications for prescription is for motion sickness and that there was a supermarket within walking distance that had some.
It wasn't that bad, just minor irritations that pissed me off.
The people I went with made the whole thing worth the pains in the ass though. I just hope like hell we don't get stuck in that hotel again.

My trip did one good thing, I know this is the pissed off forum, but I got some good news. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for me.
I've been busy as hell since my coworker Bill went out for open heart surgery. I had to go to Atlanta because of it.
It also gave me an excuse to call him and talk to him this afternoon, well, I called and left a message, then he called me back. Anyway, he'll be back to work a month earlier than I originally thought and without any restrictions at all, since he's going to cardiac rehab three days a week. He sounded wonderful. It's amazing how much you miss someone that you've seen every damn day for four years when you don't get to see them at all for almost two months.

Privileged white people calling other privileged white people "privileged white people" to dismiss arguments. But I'm a privileged white person, so that doesn't matter.

the best reason for being pissed off is nothing at all... that's right, you just wake up mad at the fucking world and don't give a fuck who knows it. my day so far... took pictures of a state trooper clocking traffic from an active business parking lot (Illegal in NY). He approached me and asked me what I was doing, told him that I was taking pictures of him and that they were going to the business owner for further legal action. (batteries were dead in the camera, but he left anyway) next up on the fuck you parade.... XM Customer Service in Goat's Crack India. i was a complete and total fuckhead to them on the phone. After that, the person that rolled through a stop sign and almost destroyed my car... people are scared when a furious 290lb asshole is in their face screaming like he was on a 2 week meth binge with a side order of acid. and then the door to my house stuck one last time and I damn near slammed the door through the doorframe... i tell you, kids, i'm right the fuck off my rocker today.
