| | Property on Ninth Line, Mississauga < on 7/6/2010 11:02 AM >
| | | Hi all Not sure if this has been mentioned before. There is a property on Ninth Line just north of Derry Road. I ventured out there in the winter but only to take some shots of the 2 vehicles you see near the top of the map I linked to (an old Ford truck and old Pontiac, visible near the railroad tracks). As you can see by the map there are other vehicles and I saw no evidence of anyone living there but was too chickenshit to look further into it. If anyone in the Milton/Mississauga area wants to hook up I'd love to go back. http://maps.google...,0.004812&t=h&z=18 [last edit 7/6/2010 11:04 AM by Jessie483 - edited 3 times]

| | | Nice shots. If you venture a little further out to 5 line (just a few roads west of 9 line) you'll find no less than 5 abandoned properties between Steeles Avenue down to Lower Baseline. Take the whole drive up and down and you'll spot all of them. Really cool. Up at Steeles on the southeast corner you can see a trail leading up to an abaondoned structure. Then just a few hundred metres south of this (south of the highway) you can see an old silo. Keep going south and there's abandoned houses, lots and structures littered on both sides of Sideroad 5. Check it on Google Earth if you like, they're all visible on there.

| | | 4th Line in Omagh has a couple places as well, it was where I got my start with UE. I still keep an eye out on 'em. Two houses are gone now (one as recent as yesterday).

| | | I live 5 minutes away from that location, and its amazing how many abandoned houses are there. Old farms that are no more. There have been at least 3-4 that have left us i the past year, but there are still a good amount.

| | | Anybody remember the shitty little (red?) house on Trafalgar Road (PROBABLY between Derry & Britannia, if memory serves) that was listing over at about a 20-degree angle? COME ON, I can't be the only one who took note of it every time I drove by... (It's been gone for maybe two or three years now?)

| | | If its the one right at the corner of Trafalgar and Derry its actually still there, but not for much longer I think. It is not leaning that much thou. There are two others on Trafaler that I have seen, one is a stucco house that actually looks really nice on the outside, and another a little down the road from it, but I dont know if that one is still there. | | | I think there was a facebook event for a party at that place a couple years ago. Anyway, I live very close and definitely be down for some exploring there. Also wanna check out the old farm on 9th and Burnhamthorpe. After all the years driving by there on the way to Oakville, I wanna see it now that I'm into UE.
The sign said "Anybody caught trespassin will be shot on sight" So I jumped on the fence and I yelled at the house, "Hey! What gives you the right?" http://www.flickr.com/photos/evman/ |

The stucco one is well worth the trip, though I don't think the house itself is accessible (YMMV). I THINK the one down the street has been demo'd. It was pretty boring anyway.

The Stucco one is south of the 407 at the corner of Burnamthorpe and Trafalgar. i have been on the site and the home looks pretty well sealed.
