About Me

I'm a 20-something on-again-off-again student residing in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia in 1984, I spent only a few years in Bridgewater before my family moved down the river to a small community called Petite Riviere (founded 1634). The area was discovered by Samuel de Champlain after landing near the mouth of the river during the early 17th century. The Petite Riviere empties into the Atlantic Ocean at Green Bay.

There are three spectacular beaches situated on Green Bay. Crescent Beach, Green Bay Beach and Risser's Beach, which is a Nova Scotia Provincial Park. This is where the tri and the beach come from in my screen name. The punk, well, that's another story.

In 2002, I moved to Halifax, the 'warden of the north,' to attend Dalhousie University. I've been in Halifax ever since. Halifax, founded in 1749, has always been a major port city. Established as a British, and later Canadian, naval and military stronghold, countless century-old cannons still aim at the mouth of our harbour.

I keep a blog to keep myself and everyone else up to speed on what I've been up to.. To access my blog, click here. It covers everything from local military ruin urbex to the goings-on at the waterfront beside the largest ice-free port in the world. I make frequent visits to the many military installations that are abandoned along our shoreline and scattered across several harbour islands. All of those visits are documented on the blog. I encourage you to follow my blog if you'd like!
