Early Saturday afternoon, the area northeast of Williston's railroad station was deserted. I'd biked down here for a picnic and a look at the steam engine in Railroad Park. Continuing east I noticed an abandoned railroad spur. These often lead to good things, so I followed it to the first junkyard. Here is the white truck, and weird industrial and farm equipment. I took a few pictures and rode off feeling pleased with myself, only to encounter another junkyard, and beyond it a small lot in which several cars and a truck have found their final parking spaces.

This is where I spent most of my time. It's southeast of 1st Street East and Second Avenue East, in the middle of the block. I was saddened to find a fine old Chrysler woodie that someone had set fire to. The other vehicles rest in relative peace. All slumbered in the autumn sunlight, while I examined them, tried door handles and photographed them undisturbed.

I found the Ford Deluxe two blocks away by a siding with some covered hopper cars; it's for sale.
