No More Asbestos

Today I had the chance to explore the Fertilizer Plant. It seemed that all of the "asbestos cocoons" have been removed. The upper floors of the building had some interesting machinery and a great view of the lake. I explored the smaller office building next to the plant and found a Meilink safe that had been pried open by vandals. I peered through a hole in the back of the safe and it appeared to be full of straw. There was another building on the site that was waist-deep full of asphalt-like material. I have no clue what it was, and I didn't want to find out. Across the field were more buildings that appeared to be abandoned, but getting to them would require walking out in open view of many houses and a nearby sewage treatment plant. There appeared to be construction equipment near the building, too.
It seemed like a pretty average exploration until I jumped back over the fence to leave. This was right when a silver Chrysler pulled up to the gate. A middle-aged gentleman stepped out of the car and began to walk towards me. I greeted him and he asked me what I was doing back near the fence. I responded with "exploring", and he told me "that's an awful small area to be exploring, back by that fence". He asked "you weren't on the other side of the fence, were you?" I told him that yes, I was back there to explore. He wanted to know why anybody would do such a thing. He asked me if I thought it was "haunted" or something. I replied that such things are asinine. He didn't seem angry at me, just a little confused. I struck up a conversation with him and learned that he was the property owner. He told me he was there to "check up" on the property, and he confirmed that most of the asbestos had been removed, but there was still asbestos in the window caulk. He told me of the plans to build condominiums on the land, and that something was in the works. I do not believe he owns the glue factory because he told me "this is the only piece of property like this that I own." I never had a chance to visit the glue factory prior to talking to him, so I may have to save that for another trip.
