Full Exploration

Tis New Years eve and we felt it was an opportune chance to explore the Brook Run facility before the new year began.
Neither of us got any sleep last night because this was to be our first big exploration. We packed some healthy meals and hit the road at around 7am. The building is actually only a few miles from where we live, but somehow we ended up taking a wrong turn and we got to the hospital around 8am.
We spent most of the morning starting on the bottom floor exploring alot of the storage facilities and laundry rooms.
By far, the most interesting things we found were the cafeteria and the immense kitchen behind it. Also we found a spiral staircase that attached to the kitchen but eventually had a wall built (subsequently turn down over time), but the frame of the wall still remains. We were able to find a single intact dentist chair, and a really awesome room filled with x-ray equipment.
However, the majority of the day was spent exploring in and out of empty rooms, feeling the presence of the old lives that once lived and worked there.
Some of the best attributes of this building include the dead rat in one of the storage rooms, and a dead floating racoon in a septic drain in the back of the building. They didn't believe me when I pointed out that there was something furry floating in the water. A few good pokes with a stick confirmed the presence of pure evil.
So, the day went by, we admired some interesting and amazing graffiti (subtle and unsubtle). We came to the conclusion that the markings in the parking lot belonged to police training groups that sometimes practice at this empty hospital as illustrated by the many bulletholes, paper targets, and shell casing all over the building. Even burn marks from flash-bangs.
There appear to have been 2 seperate camp-fires in the cafeteria and it's really amazing how the carpet was still in tact.
So we signed our names and wrote our stories on some lunch trays, ate our packed lunches, explored a couple of nearby buildings, then left.
I personally have a mission to return to this place, but hopefully before it gets torn down (apparently this month). So check it out while you can.
