The first time I entered Stelco's abandoned Hamilton facility was back in June of 2004 (I'm on the right with the pack on my back)... days before a devastating fire hit the place. When I first entrered the building, I was totally "wowed" by the sheer size of the place.

The ceilings in the main warehouse facility are at least 20-25 feet tall, with peeling green paint, and an eerie fan that turns with the wind. The place is literally a UE'rs playground. So much to explore, so much danger around each corner. There are giant, gaping holes in the floor at some places, while you notice buckling ceiling pieces above you... subject to 20+ years of neglect. I've never felt more scared for my life than I have in this place at times.

Going at night is astoundingly scary. The place turns into a graveyard. Its pitch black in most places, and TOTALLY quiet. All to be heard is the distant wooshing of cars going past on Wellington, or the occasional freight train on CN's Grimsby Sub. At night, you never no what the hell is behind you. Could be a crackhead, could be another explorer, could be a cop. Theres so many places to enter this building as well, even if one is locked up another will be open for you. The place is very high traffic.

This is my impression of the place so far... sorry its not too extensive, this is just what I think of the place. Thanks to Lord Kahos and Silent Knight for capturing the moment.
