Is that arch made completely of stone? That's really beautiful. I would think someone would want to preserve those for a public garden, or another outdoor theater or something.

Actually I'm now an official "volunteer" for the Schroon Lake town council ! Can you beleive that shit? I emailed for some full res old shots, and he sent me exactly what was on the website, which sucks; In passing I said "as far as volunteering I don't know what I could really do". So Roger replies " Any suggestions or help you could offer would be greatly appreciated". Suggestions? What they are trying to accomplish is to have the state "NOT" convert it to campsites but use the land as a sort of "Arts" place. Restore the theatre, perhaps build some sort of convention place, refer the the website. To me it makes sense; the original deed indicated that the property was to be used in a manner "inconsistent" with the Adirondack park ( I.e. commercial) so they are pissed that the state wants to treat it like any other plot they own.

Couldn't someone just sue to make sure the deed was followed? Or did the deed become meaningless once the state got hold of it?

I guess that is the issue; when the state assumes a property, is the original deed intent still in effect? '

I would doubt it's anygood now. Unfortunatly. Fukin legal junk, there is always a loop-hole they find to do whatever they want. It should be renovated, and made into something similar again. I guess if enuff people protested, they might go with it. They def. won't if noone says anything. Shame the state does this shit.

That stone arch is like something(excuse my imagination) of the Faerie world.
