  It was converted to oil in the 50's. My grandmother had the same furnace in her house, and converted it to oil.

  It's not a furnace, it's a steam or hot water boiler.

  actually its a hot water boiler. if you look at pic #15 you can see the rad, since there is no steam trap and the inlet and outlet are on the same level that means it hot water.
