That was the last time I was there. I think the last movie that I saw there was Major League 2.

It also served as some sort of car lot/car dealership inventory headquarters. They had rows of cars lined up in the parking lot, possibly for the Fowler Toyota across the highway. Maybe some sort of fleet sales or something.

It was later than 93-94; I started summer of 93 and was a projectionist there until September of 95. A few years later, several of the old crew during the mid 90s dropped in on our old Manager before having dinner nearby Towneast Mall in 1998. I remember that because I had just gotten a new 1998 Civic. It closed something closer to 1999 or 2000 when the theater closed.

A friend and I had to sneak out this side door from theater 3 after a wild night, almost resulting in a riot (or so it seemed at the time at age 17), in the summer of 1994. Mesquite Police were camped out front in a Police RV until everyone was gone.

Town East Mall opened in the early 70's a few miles away. Big Town hung on as long as it could, but by the 90's Montgomery Ward was the only major tenant left. When Wards shut down, it pretty much spelled the end for Big Town.

Yeah, Montgomery Wards closing was definitely the end. In the final years, there were maybe a dozen interior stores, all clustered in the south end next to Wards. They all left when Wards went chapter 11, then Wards closed, then finally the furniture store in the northwest end and the westernwear store in the northeast end.

Last movie I saw here was "A League of Their Own" in '92. Hard to believe that was 15 years ago....
