  The pipe on the right side that goes into the floor is going into part of the well that is under the building. The boiler was fed off well water.

  You sure? It looks like a sump pump.

  Very sure. I have the original blueprints that show where the pumps/lines everything. The well is very deep and feeds off the cancal the runs in under the cement pad infront of the building. Plus the old maintenance man for the building told me about the system. We spent a week with the city trying to figure out where the water lines come into the building. There are none. Then the old guy told me all about the system. You can take off that cover and look inside :)
