CRF station and emplacement #1 of Battery Alexander Dyer (1908 - 1917). Two 6-inch guns on disappearing carriages were emplaced here. Named after Brevet Maj. Gen. Alex B. Dyer of the Mexican and Civil Wars (12/27/1904). The CRF Station was actually for Battery Gates. It was built over the old Battery Dyer BC Station in the 1920's and it was eventually replaced by the BC/CRF Tower.
