  There is a dump near that house with a lot of 50's crap like this around. My guess is that this was one of the last houses to be vacated.

With the tin that badly rusted, I'd hazard a guess it's probably full of botulism or some other nasty toxin.

It would be interesting though if you know a biologist to have them test it, just out of curiosity.

  There are still MRE's, or whatever they called them in WWII, around that people have opened and ate the contents. Of course those were preserved alot better than a can of processed turkey.
