I love these 40mm Bofors guns.

40mm would mean it was American rather than Japanese, wouldn't it?

  Definately American Bofors 40mm.

Actually, it's not American. Bofors guns, were developed and build by a Swedish company :) Today the company is American, but the same people who build Bofors, build also the 37mm Flak. for Germans...

Yes, I know Bofors was a Swedish company, but their 40mm guns were built in the thousands by license in the USA. As far as I know, the Japanese never used them, instead relying mainly on a copy of a French AA gun that was definitely inferior.

  It's probably a Type 96 (1936) AA gun

Same guns that are on the AC-130 "Spector" gunship, an awsome, and scarry sight.
