Any idea why the building was abandoned? from some of the pics it looks like people left in a hurry without treasured things.....

This building was left as it was to be demolished and replaced with another apartment building.

If you visit HK, it is at the start of Queens Road East (opp Pacific Coffee) in Admiralty area.

Yeah, but was the building dangerously unsound that recovering these items was too hazardous? I mean that if I was evicted from my home because the building was to be demolished for redevelopment at least I would remove my personal property. I wonder if the residents were in an old age home or otherwise not present, were never informed of this and ended up losing their possessions. That would be quite sad.

I wonder how hard it was to decide what to take & what wasn't really necessary to live without...

Amazing that such leftovers are still in pristine condition. Lucky to have not had vandals - otherwise that stuff would be smashed. Beautiful remnants of someone's life.

Maybe it was an older couple who just both passed away and didn't have any other family. That's what happened at an abandoned house near here, filled with all of their belongings, and one day it was just demolished and everything burned.

"I wonder if the residents were in an old age home or otherwise not present, were never informed of this and ended up losing their possessions" you just saw pics from a guy who went there after the place was abandoned... don't you think in the mean time the owners would have had time to take what they needed? It's not like it's Prypyat... that's really sad...this is... interesting.
