  what was the point of the 2 acute pavilions? and what where they used for

  If memory serves me correctly, they were used to maximize the amount of sunlight that the patients who couldn't get out of the building would receive. They were places for the patients to sit and relax. This building, when I worked there, was the Neuropsychiatric ward. People with neurological diseases were kept there. Pretty depressing inside, especially on the ground floor.
