D-gear, am I wrong or it's one of the 9 places built by Stalin during the communist era? It looks like the university of Moscow. There's also a building like this one in Warsaw in Poland, a gift of Stalin in the 50's.

PhoBac: yes, I was about to say 'oh, the university, nice'. I thought there were just two in Moscow though.
There's some fantastic architecture in Moscow.

PhoBac, yes, its part of project "Vysotnie zdaniya", but there is only 7 buildings. Yes, I saw Stalin's building in Warsaw, the same architecture as those buildings in Moscow.
More about "Vysotnie zdaniya" (high-rise buildings) project read at http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/cx/?id=100285

There are many great books on Stalinist architecture, you should see some of the stuff they didn't build!

Ok I'll leave that to you, knowing my luck...I'll walk in on a "non-existant" KGB weapons cache
