looks like the telecom was scaled back at one time, quite a few empty bix frames, these things are great for alarm system cross connects too, not too hot for data 110 blocks are better

You're kidding, right? A Bix-block strip, ones made now are rated for cat-6.
110 must die.

oh really, thanks for telling me :) i can stop swearing at my worn out 110 blocks, i did some reading up, the bix was a canadian invention by northern electric back in the day, of course all thier inventions were property of bell labs but the bix was developped in montreal at the laurentien northern plant

There is a new "block" type coming out, we just started to use it. Similar to bix, but more compact.

cool, i always loved the way the bix has all kinds of accessories too, you can have the little 2 row bix or a full one, the covers and the like and even modular plugs build right in

I'm going to wire up the house in BIX later when I get everything sorted out down in the basement. People just don't care about thier work anymore.

i know, when bell still did wiring, as AT&T in the states too it was pretty cool, anywhere in north america the wiring was all identical. i got a bix in my house for the phones, it is handy when you have 3 phone lines in a house
