25 / 41   Radiation safety keys

Description
Outside of radiation areas are key stations like this one. When a person entered, they would take a key, thus providing a count of how many personnel were in a radiation area. This key station is outside of a closed area - the keys were likely taken as souvenirs by those unfamiliar with the UE motto "Take only pictures, leave only footprints".

They are call Kirk locks. They are interlock type of key. You pull one key and use it to unlock another. We use them in switching High voltage switiching too.
