When they closed the old high school, they didn't even bother tearing it diwn, they just covered it. A bulldozer working the dump two months later fell through the roof, and one floor i believe. They were able to retreive the bull dozer.

Scared the ever lovin' shit out of the bulldozer's operator.

It would be, if you can get past security, and for a mine, it's pretty damn tight, i know from learning the hard way about it.
Got caught taking some equipment for a test drive, a Catipilar D-10 bulldozer as a matter of fact. It was fun

Found out first hand just how fast a D-10 Caterpillar 'dozer would go.

Sad to see just how much of my home town is gone.

You can still see some of the old smelter, and mill in the background.

It is in my opinion, it's where i was born, and raised. If you can avoid being detected by company security, or the Greenlee County Sheriff, you would have a field day exploring this place, that is if the mine hasn't buried everything worth exploring under a waste rock dump. The high school i went to, and graduated from is burried under that waste rock dump in this picture. I'd be happy to tell you a little about that place.

About 28 years ago as a matter of fact Charlie. The tanks in the background was part of a smelter/mill complex. The football field was built on top of a slag dump.
