It doesn't really seem to go anywhere special, but the age of the foundation stones suggests there was a much older house built on this property before the current structure was put in place. The concrete around the foundation, and at the bottom of the stairs, all appears to be broken out too. I don't know what the hell they were doing, or planning to do. The entire mansion is incongruous and full of mystery.
