  i went here last summer, and it's a thousand times better in reality. the darkness of the stone is actually from this moss/bacteria that's been growing forever. they've tried getting it off or painting over it, etc, on test areas, but it's crazily expensive and time consuming. plus, it's damaging to the stone. the resulting color is really beige. like, boringly so. trust me, it's better off au naturel. ^-^

  It is a truly great structure. Around 185 metres high I believe, although it took them something like 700 years to finish the spires! It's a little bit of a pity that so many people crown inside, though. It spoils the atmosphere.

  tell me anything thats built like that is today. probably still take us 700 years do that today..... well not in germany ;) absolutely incredible!!!
