Looks like one of those crazy worker elevators. /slightly/ dangerous. I think either Packard or Fisher Body in Detroit has one.

Actually I'm pretty sure that is called the "Leg" and it is used to lift the grain.

That's a manlift. A leg has buckets on it and is closed. We have a manlift in the mill i work at.
