Description
Found this lying on top of various rubbish outside the rear door... I'm sure I knew one of the girls in the front row when I was younger.

So cruel. But so!!! The guy in the third row, centre, looks like he'd grow up to be a yob. And centre front, she has to grow up to be the geek at high school.

It looks like there were all just told, 'It's haggis for lunch again!'.
Posted by agent-x 6/9/2004 6:16 PM | remove
that's right, it's haggis every day in Scotland
Posted by TurboZutek 6/9/2004 6:16 PM | remove
Snarg - haggis can only be served at school mealtimes on Burns supper night now thanks to new EU regulations on serving Offal.

Oh, and Haggis is excellent. Here you can get something called a 'Haggis Supper' which is haggis deep fried in batter with chips [French fries].

Have it with ketchup or brown sauce... good either way!

Although they're getting harder to catch wild, and they taste better that way. Can't stand farm-reared haggis...
Posted by TurboZutek 7/1/2004 11:14 PM | remove
You just know that farm reared Haggis has been 'interfered with' along the way...

Nasty!

I don't know how you could eat them, but if your into cooking Gizmo or baby ewoks then go for it, I just think they are darn too cute to eat!! :-))

i heard the farmed haggii were escaping and cross-breeding with the organic ones, which is just going to lead to bland tasting haggis in the future
Posted by Doc Lightning 7/2/2004 11:24 PM | remove
You can tell which is which by the colour of the fur. The cross-bred ones have the grey patches in their fur, the organic ones that vibrant red colour.

did i hear right, that they feed the farmed ones irn bru to try and make their fur more red? or is that just urban legend?
Posted by sisterblue 7/5/2004 6:16 PM | remove
That smacks of urban myth, as a farmers daughter i know for a fact you could not feed livestock such a thing. I believe though that they were fed on a sugar beet mix. Could be wrong though, we never farmed them.
Posted by TurboZutek 7/5/2004 10:49 PM | remove
Ah think again Sis - the Barrs factory in Kilmarnock has been selling it's surplus / rejected soda base concentrates to the farming feeds industry for years!
Posted by sisterblue 7/6/2004 10:33 AM | remove
Really, i wondered. Perhaps that makes sense really, because the beet that gets fed to the hagi was different to what i used to fed my horses. Prhaps it was mixed with the concentrate. I'll need to ask my dad to see if he knows.
Posted by ParanoidGirl 7/11/2004 6:22 PM | remove
Would that make them taste any different I wonder ??

Weird they all have different uniforms...
Posted by GreyDeath 4/27/2005 5:22 PM | remove
A lot of the schools in my area that require uniforms have differnet variations of that uniform, such as formal, summer, winter, etc...
Posted by PlasticDel 4/29/2005 2:32 AM | remove
Except for the 'poor kid' (2nd row left) who doesn't have a uniform at all. Awwwww! Bless!
