Here's a view of the large marble rock outcropping which is being quarried. The marble was of high quality and High Sierra Gardens probably crushes the rock for use in landscaping.

Nice as always rap! You got style! How close to the surface was the water level at the main Orizaba shaft?

Thanks Jonsered! I could not see the water in the main shaft or the other one nearby, so I'm assuming the water level must have been several hundred feet down. I found one report from 1913 that stated the Orizaba mine had been dug down to 100 feet at that time and hadn't been developed past the water level yet. I haven't found anything clearer than that though.
