  Looks like after the viaduct grade separation, looking south along Bay, with the present Union Station to the right.

  It's too bad we built the Gardiner near the waterfront, but these old photos explain why it made it sense at the time. The industrial waterfront wasn't likely seen as a destination for leisure and relaxation, except for the ferry terminal.
