oooh a teletype, i worked in a place where one of these was still connected in 2001, all of a sudden it started printing on sept 11, the company head office deemed it the only secure communication

A Digital Equipment Company DECwriter. I haven't seen one of these babies since 1979 at John Abbott. If you stopped typing for a couple of seconds, the print head would move a couple inches over to the right, allowing you to see the last few characters you typed. Yes kids, people actually talked to their computers using typewriters before video terminals like the VT100 became commonplace.

Remotely typing a CTRL-L was fun and a lot of waste of paper :)
