Out front of the 1953 addition. Handicap access was, as you can imagine, added later - This wooden ramp, which led to a special ed classroom, and one elevator around back were the only two ways inside for someone in a wheelchair as all the ground-level entrances led immediately to stairs. The first floor of this building is kind of confusing, as it is half above ground and half below ground. If you look at the exterior shots, you'll see the first level of windows is very small. From the inside, they were up near the ceiling. Even in the lunchroom, the one story part seen here, the windows start 3' off the ground or so.
