yeah im kinda at a loss as to why those are used here, but theyre all over, and dont seem to get ripped up. so i guess theyre plow-friendly.

This particular type of reflector is supposed to be plow-resistant. Note the arched bits at either side that let the plow ride up and over without hitting the reflector.

see the thing is up here we do more than regular plowing, after freezing rain we run graders somtimes with the front wheels barely on the ground down our expressways

wow thats pretty neat. im not sure if they do it like that here or not. i know some roadway engineers and if i think to ill ask.

sometimes a dodgy contractor grading the road will use a plow with teeth to get rid of ice and chew the road to hell
