I believe that this is no longer acceptable in a new installation. When they have to work on these things they have to use a hot stick because the primary side is usually tens of thousands of volts. If this thing ever decided to blow up [transformer oil fire] that canopy would be a real problem not to mention if they ever had to replace this thing.
