  That is called a 'buxton chair' rather than a wheelchair. Check the Encyclopedia for my entry.

  yw. In fact - this is only a partial Buxton - it is missing the big ears at the side that protect someone with involintary head spasm.

On some chairs they were removable mind you.

  Hmmm.. Not sure on that one - over here they wear a head protector that looks more like a bicycle helmet.

I have seen a Buxton which had STRAPS at the head area !!! Nasty.
