take a look at the whitish color of the red brick on the left. You will see the same white mineral deposit on the exterior of Dow. Don't buy an house new or old with such whitish and powdery terture. (we can se this happening on brick walls that are flooded inside or lack aeration)

it happens on multi course brick walls, modern houses only have veneer brick but older buildings with structural brick have 2-4 layers of brick, hence the common running bond pattern for 5 rows then what looks like the ends of brick for 1 row and so on. the water gets between the courses and poof, many unscrupulous builders will run "effloressance" cleaner on the building for days to get rid of this
